Trigger finger occurs when the tendon which bends the finger gets stuck in a little tunnel through which the tendon passes. The tunnel is called a pulley. The tendon will first be painful to bend the finger, then next to straighten the finger. Often there is a popping (triggering) that gives a painful sudden finger motion. Dr. Vizzi can guide you through the treatment options for trigger finger. These options may include nonsurgical and /or surgical treatment depending on the severity of the symptoms, the length of the symptoms and how well the symptoms respond to treatment.
